Fall ’25 Mid-Semester Updates

Georgetown Debate hit the ground running for the 24-25 season! After graduating three seniors in the Spring, the Hoyas sprung back into action with a quarterfinals finish at the Northwestern Tournament to start the season.

Juniors Benjamin Sayers and Connelly Cowan then made it to the octafinals of the Kentucky and Harvard Tournaments, cementing their status as one of the top teams in the country this year. Connelly was the 10th speaker at Harvard!

We’ve also had new debaters join the team! Vikram Valame and Scott Pawley started off strong with a 3-3 finish at their first tournament together and they also picked up some good wins at Harvard!

The team will finish the first semester with the Wake Forest Tournament in a few weeks before Winter Break and then we’ll start the second season by hosting the Georgetown College Tournament. Hoya Saxa!
