Summer Success

Georgetown Debate had a very busy summer! Debaters gave dozens of practice speeches, listened to countless lectures, and cut hundreds of cards to prepare for the 2023-2024 season. Georgetown debaters and coaches also had a busy summer outside of preseason prep!

Georgetown hosted the 2023 Georgetown Debate Seminar on campus for 74 high school students. Students lived on campus for three weeks and were able to work with some great faculty and staff. Students also had the opportunity to watch 4th of July Fireworks in DC, tour museums and monuments along the National Mall, and explore Georgetown’s campus and the surrounding neighborhood! We’re extremely grateful for the students, faculty, staff, Georgetown debaters, and Georgetown administrators who helped make the camp happen.

The Georgetown debaters spent the summer working and studying all around the world!
