After the first two tournaments of the 2020-21 season, Georgetown Debate is off to a strong start!
At the national season opener hosted by Northwestern University, 2 teams cleared to the elimination rounds and David Bernstein (SFS ’21) was named the 21st speaker in a field of over 250.
In early October, at the tournament hosted by the University of Kentucky, three partnerships cleared to the elimination rounds! A team of two first-years, Bernard Medeiros and Zidao Wang (both C ’24) made it to the octafinals (the “Sweet Sixteen”). David Bernstein was named the 12th speaker.
With seven partnerships, the team is currently larger than it has been in some time, and the future is looking bright!
